Zuerst muss ich sagen, dass es ziemlich schwierig ist für mich, hier eine genaue und verständliche Erklärung zu geben. Ich weiss noch nicht sehr viel von dieser Krankheit und habe daher auch noch nicht so viele Infos dazu. Dazu kommt, dass diese Krankheit noch sehr sehr unbekannt ist. Ich habe bereits mehrere Freunde gefragt, ob sie davon schon gehört haben, viele verneinten. Auch im Internet in Forums habe ich Umfragen gestellt und nicht sehr viele kannten die Krankheit, oder hatten einfach schon mal den Namen gehört.
Naja, ich will dich jetzt nicht länger auf die Folter spannen.

Wenn man sich das nun so bildlich vorstellt, hört es sich beinahe so an, als
würde man nach Lust und Laune aussortieren. ,Das esse ich, das will ich nicht,
das esse ich, das nicht...'. Ganz falsch. Hier bedeutet es so viel wie: Der
Betroffene kann ziemlich viele Dinge nicht zu sich nehmen. Man hat eine
selektive Essstörung, indem man einen ziemlich eingeschränkten Speiseplan hat.
Solche, die extrem betroffen davon sind, können meist sogar nur ein einziges
Nahrungsmittel zu sich nehmen. Muss man sich mal vorstellen. Frühstück, Mittag
und Abend, immer dasselbe. Wenn wir eine Woche lang jeden Tag dasselbe zum
Mittagessen bekommen würden, könnten wir dieses dann eine Weile nicht mehr
ansehen. Anders bei den SED-Betroffenen.
Es gibt noch nicht sooo viele Leute, die von dieser Krankheit gehört haben.
Ausserdem gehört dieses Thema wie so viele anderen Themen auch, zu den
Tabuthemen der Menschheit. Ich meine, wer spricht schon gerne über Krankheiten,
die kaum bis gar nicht heilbar sind? Da wären Depressionen,
Magersucht/Essstörung, Bulimie, Schizophrenie und eben auch die selektive
Essstörung. Die erste Frage: Wo liegt der Unterschied zwischen
Magersucht/Essstörung, Bulimie und selektiver Essstörung? Ich hab mal etwas im
Internet recherchiert und bin auf folgendes gestossen:
Magersucht/Essstörung und Bulimie: Magersucht ist, wenn man
süchtig danach ist mager auszusehen. Man will bewusst sehr dünn sein. Bei
Bulimie KANN man Normalgewicht haben, dennoch erbricht man sein Essen oft, nach
regelmäßigen Fressanfällen. Bei Bulimie ist es so, dass die Erkrankten generell
alles mögliche anstellen um die Nahrung wieder loszuwerden. Erbrechen,
Abführmittel, exzessiver Sport usw. Es gibt aber auch Magersüchtige, die
hin und wieder absichtlich erbrechen, zudem treiben sie ebenfalls exzessiv
Sport. Oft gehen Bulimie und Magersucht auch ineinander über. Das heißt, die
Betroffenen essen lange Zeit nichts, hungern, um das Idealgewicht zu erreichen.
Dann kriegen sie die typischen Fressanfälle und erbrechen wieder, um sich selbst
zu bestrafen.
SED ist übrigens die Abkürzung für
Selective Eating Disorder.
Es ist bei jedem unterschiedlich. Manche können vielleicht kein Zwieback
essen, aber Zwieback mit Nutella geht. Oder sie mögen die Rösti vom Coop
überhaupt nicht riechen, aber die von der Migros geht problemlos. Hier denken
jetzt viele, dass das oft so ist. Manche Produkte schmecken einfach anders. Aber
es ist trotzdem was anderes. Denn, was aus meiner Sicht her so ziemlich das
Schlimmste ist; Es kommt auch vor, dass die Speiseliste immer wie kleiner wird.
Das heisst, was ein Betroffener mal gerne hatte, kann er plötzlich nicht mehr
essen, weil er sonst einen Brechreiz bekommt. Wenn ich etwas nicht mag, dann mag
ich es einfach nicht. Bananen mag ich überhaupt nicht. Ich kann sie riechen, ich
kann sie anfassen, ich kann sie schälen und schneiden, aber ich esse sie nicht
gerne. Ein Betroffener könnte sie vielleicht nicht mal riechen und schon wird's
ihm übel und er muss (fast) brechen gehen. Ich hoffe, ihr versteht in etwa, was
ich sagen möchte.
Wen betrifft die Krankheit?
Es kann JEDEN treffen.
In jeder Altersgruppe. Ich weiss noch nicht genau, ob die Krankheit eher bei Kleinkindern
beginnt und die meisten Betroffenen wo Erwachsen sind, einfach noch nichts davon wussten, oder ob es auch erst mit 20 oder 30 beginnen kann.
Wie erkennt man diese Krankheit?
Tja, diese Frage ist schon etwas schwieriger zu klären. Vor allem dann, wenn
es Kleinkinder betrifft. Es ist ja schliesslich ganz normal, dass viele kleine
Kinder kein Gemüse essen wollen oder auch Früchte verweigern. Lieber mal eine
Schokolade oder ein Gummibärchen. Und wenn man dann mit dem Kind zum Arzt geht,
heisst es so gut wie immer: ,Machen Sie sich keine Sorgen. Ihr Kind wird mit der
Zeit anfangen Gemüse und Früchte zu essen. Hauptsache, es trinkt genügend.' Ich
kann jetzt mal mit einem Beispiel kommen: Mein Bruder ass als ungefähr fünf
Jähriger Äpfel. Auch Babybrei konnte man ihm geben. Mit ungefähr acht Jahren ass
er keine Äpfel mehr, Gemüse und Früchte immer noch nicht. Wir hofften, dass er
dann mit der Zeit doch noch anfangen würden solches zu Essen. Jetzt ist er
bereits ein junger Teenager und isst weder Früchte, Gemüse, Brot und so weiter.
Er isst gerne Süsses, Fleisch, Kartoffeln, Reis, Teigwaren aber kein Fisch.
Cornflakes isst er auch. Er trinkt alles mögliche und auch viel (zum Glück).
Sein Zwilling isst dafür alles mögliche kreuz und quer, trinkt aber nicht alles
mögliche. Das einzige kohlensäure enthaltene Getränk das er mag ist Cola.
Ansonsten Wasser, Tee, Sirup oder Apfelsaft. Die Liste meines betroffenen
Bruders wird ab und zu etwas kleiner. Fischstäbchen ass er einmal. Jetzt nicht
mehr. Und dann kommts immer noch drauf an, von welcher Marke das Produkt kommt.
Coop, Mirgros, Denner, Aldi, ... .
Die Frage habe ich immer noch nicht richtig geklärt. Ich sag mal so: Wenn
nicht zufälligerweise einmal ein Artikel über ein betroffenes Mädchen aus den
USA im Blick gestanden hätte, wüssten wir (meine Mutter und ich)
immer noch nicht, wo das Problem von jemandem liegt, den ich hier nicht namentlich
erwähnen möchte. Als dann noch ein zweiter und ein dritter Artikel folgten,
waren wir uns sicher, dass es diese Krankheit war und mein Bruder ebenfalls
davon betroffen war. Es geschieht oft, dass man dank eines Artikels in der
Zeitung, Internet oder wo auch immer herausfindet, was das Kind bedrückt, woran
es leidet. Ich denke mal, wenn die Speiseliste von jemandem immer wie kleiner
wird oder er bei verschiedenen Nahrungsmitteln mit Brechreiz, Heulanfällen oder
ähnlichem reagiert, könnte es in die Richtung einer selektiven Essstörung
gehen.
Was sind die Anzeichen einer solchen Krankheit?
Da kann ich ein paar Dinge auflisten, die ich bereits weiss. Aber
vielleicht gibt es noch mehrere Dinge.
1. Brechreiz
2. Übelkeit
3. Angst
4. Heulanfall
Wenn man bedenkt, dass diese Symptome wegen eines Nahrungsmittels auftreten
können, ist das schon irgendwie eine schockierende Erkenntnis. Natürlich treten
nicht alle Symptome gleichzeitig auf. Bei jedem wird das wohl etwas anders sein.
Wie soll man aus Aussenstehende darauf reagieren?
Der erste und wichtigste Punkt lautet: Dränge einen Betroffenen
NIEMALS etwas zu essen oder zu versuchen, wenn er sich
weigert.
Versuche auf den Betroffenen einzugehen und zeig ihm, dass du Verständnis für
ihn hast.
Wenn der Betroffene merkt, dass man ihn versteht und ihn zu nichts drängen
will, öffnet er sich meist von alleine. Das hab ich bei meinem Bruder
gemerkt.
Für Betroffene ist es extrem schwer dies zu akzeptieren und zu sagen: ,Ja,
ich bin davon betroffen und kann viele Dinge nicht essen obwohl ich gerne
möchte.'
Damit ich euch noch mehr Infos weitergeben kann, muss ich erst mehr über
